I’ve been able to get out and explore this week. The leaves are changing in the North Georgia mountains. What is normally a beautiful area becomes truly stunning with the changing colors.
I captured this image of Dicks Creek Falls using my 24-70mm f/2.8mm, tripod mounted and using a circular polarizer. Thanks for stopping by.
Very nice shot!

Such a beautiful picture – what filter did you use?
I’m currently using B+W’s circular polarizer.
Beautiful photo, as always, Toby! Looks like the colors are coming in. Here in western Oregon, we don’t get the spectacular colors I used to see in New England. Our native Big Leaf maple turns yellow and slips away with the daylight hours. Occasionally one sees a planting of non-native sugar maple, and the riot of oranges, red and golds.
Thanks, Lavinia. You may not have all the colors there. But, correct me if I am wrong but, I believe the trees grow a bit taller where you live. Do you have aspens?
I haven’t seen any in the foothills where I am, but it seems as though we should have some in the upper elevations. I am at about 800 feet. Oregon State University lists Quaking Aspen as being native. We have a lot of (very tall ) Douglas Fir, some redwoods, lots of oak, big leaf maple, ash and cottonwood in my area.
What a peaceful image and the beauty of Autumn so well captured. The waterfall looks so soft. I admire your photography and look forward to follow your blog and be treated to more! Thanks for visting my blog, Johanna
ps the photo on the banner is a winner too!
