I captured this image of Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park early in the morning. The fog was very dense and visibility was limited. As I was driving slowly and watching intently for wildlife, I progressed down road. I was passing the fence posts steadily and as the fog slowly revealed the plain in front of me. That’s when I realized the fog was the subject I had been looking for.
I captured this image using my 16-35mm f/4 tripod mounted. You can see this and more of my gallery images on my site at http://tobygant.com/Gallery. Thanks as always for stopping by.

Great washed out foggy shot
Thanks, Seonaid. I thought the shot just called for it.
Morning mists are among my favorite subjects. That is a beautiful, inviting country road. Beautiful photo.
Thanks, Lavinia. It was a very beautiful morning. I love how the fog lends itself to create a certain mystery. You have to progress into it to see what is going to be revealed.
Fantastic capture – I love morning mist – there’s just something so “special” about it! 🙂
I love how it feels endless because of the fog; there’s such emotion here. I just love this capture, nicely done.
Thanks for the kind words, Annie.
This is such a beautiful shot!
Thanks for the kind words, Andy.
Fantastic shot Toby…
Thanks, Lance. You have some stunning shots of Bruges on your site. It’s giving me the urge to travel.
Thanks, Bruges is a fantastic city, I hope to be in the U.S. around late Dec. Jan. next year, visiting in Portland, Oregon, another beautiful city, I will have a longer look at your site, only just got back on the internet, we are now in a little village called Plougasmou, Brittany, France.
I wish you safe travels. I’ll be following your blog and enjoying your captures.
Not just a photo, but a visual metaphor 🙂
I found this picture haunting and inviting. Your blog is really a great place to explore.
